I am pivoting in my project deliverable. Instead of a phone charging system, I am going to make a business-card presentation object. Not only does this project align with the prompt better, but after working on it over break, I am closer to a final product.

I have had 3D-Printed business cards in the past, and they have helped display my expertise with this style of manufacturing. I would like to expand the influence of these card objects to also show my design aesthetic principles and talents. These cards will mount to a DIN-rail system which will be portable with a bold carrying handle design. The dynamic portion of the project will be a trigger-like system for releasing and distributing the individual cards.

Specifications

1. Must hold cards parallel to each other
2. Must be able to release cards without tools
3. Must hold the cards without rattling
4. Must print without significant overhangs
5. Must display a celebration of modular systems
6. Must convey a sense of advanced design

Constraints

1. Must have finished project before RepRap Festival
2. Must print duplicates of the cards to fill at least two carriages
3. Must ensure I have enough material in the various colors I choose
4. Size must fit on my printer’s build-area
5. Project must be worked on alongside other projects
